Day 2 · Best of Poland

Kraków: Wawel Castle & Kazimierz

Wawel Hill is the symbolic heart of Poland — the fortified limestone hill above the Vistula where Polish kings ruled from the 11th century, where the cathedral holds the tombs of monarchs and national heroes, and where the Renaissance castle courtyard is one of the finest in Central Europe. Your private guide — a medieval historian — walks you through the State Rooms, the Royal Private Apartments, and the cathedral with its Sigismund Chapel, considered the finest Renaissance chapel north of the Alps. The afternoon shifts to Kazimierz, the historic Jewish quarter that was its own city until 1800. The Old Synagogue (the oldest surviving synagogue in Poland, built 1407), the Remuh Cemetery with Renaissance-era tombstones, the streets where Steven Spielberg filmed Schindler's List — and then the modern Kazimierz, which has become Kraków's most creative neighbourhood: galleries, craft cocktail bars, and restaurants in converted prayer houses.

  • Wawel Castle State Rooms and Royal Apartments
  • Wawel Cathedral and the Sigismund Chapel
  • Kazimierz Jewish Quarter walking tour

Day 4 · Essence of Poland

Kraków to Zakopane

Morning transfer south to Zakopane (2 hours). The town sits at 800 metres at the foot of the Tatra Mountains — the highest range of the Carpathians, with granite peaks reaching 2,500 metres. Zakopane became Poland's mountain resort in the 1890s when the artist and architect Stanisław Witkiewicz created the Zakopane Style — wooden villas with steep roofs and carved ornamentation inspired by highland folk art. Afternoon walk through the Krupówki pedestrian street, the old wooden cemetery, and the Jaszczurówka Chapel. Evening: a traditional highland dinner with live góral music, oscypek smoked cheese, and lamb stew.

Day 4 · Kraków & Southern Poland

Kazimierz & Jewish Kraków

Kazimierz was founded as a separate city in 1335 and became the centre of Jewish life in Kraków from the 15th century onward. Your private guide walks you through the Old Synagogue (1407), the Remuh Synagogue and Cemetery (Renaissance-era tombstones), the Galicia Jewish Museum, and the streets where Steven Spielberg filmed Schindler's List in 1993. The afternoon belongs to modern Kazimierz: the galleries, the vintage shops, the courtyard restaurants, and the craft cocktail bars that have made it the most vibrant neighbourhood in Kraków. This is where the city's creative energy lives now.

  • Old Synagogue and Remuh Cemetery
  • Galicia Jewish Museum
  • Schindler's List filming locations

Day 5 · Poland: Food & Culture

Kraków to Warsaw

Express train to Warsaw (2.5 hours). Afternoon walking tour of the Old Town — rebuilt from wartime rubble — with your Warsaw culinary guide, ending at Hala Koszyki, the 1908 market hall that was restored in 2016 and is now Warsaw's most dynamic food destination: 18 vendors under one glass roof, from traditional Polish to modern fusion. Evening: dinner at one of Warsaw's contemporary Polish restaurants, where the tasting menu tells a story about the country through ingredients — foraged mushrooms, Podlasie buckwheat, Baltic cod, Silesian rapeseed.
